Font Research for Film Title
The fonts below are all examples of the kind of fonts i want to use for my film title.
This one was to square for what i wanted yet it is in the right style as it is distorted and that will show what genre the film is.
Same with this one it's got a scratchy kind of effect on it yet it is still to square and not rough enough. Again it shows genre of horror really well.
Because some of the fonts were too square i then looked for lower case fonts like the ones above, yet there still wasn't something right about them and it didn't really stand out to me even though they meet all of my requirements for showing genre and being distorted.
This is my chosen Font below
his was the final font i went for as it shows the genre more that the rest as it has a scratch mark effect showing physical pain whereas the others were just distorted. This font also stands out more therefore making it noticeable to the audience.
Font Research for Magazine Mast Head
The fonts below are all examples of the kind of fonts i want to use for my Magazine Mast Head.
These two were quite a good fonts that i was close to choosing but the only problem was that i didn't feel that they were the easiest one to read, and therefore wouldn't stand pout as much as the one that i finally chose. On the other hand they do represent the horror genre quite effectively.
These two were too cartoon looking for me and my film is quite serious as it is not a comedy horror it is a pure horror film and i dont want to give the wrong impression just by including a title that doesnt look to standard. You can tell they are horror genre based but like i said i needed it to be more serious.
This is the one i chose in the end as it clearly shows the genre and it is large and really clear to see, also it is not cartoon like in any way. All of these things point toward it being a good font which is exactly what i need for my magazine front cover so that people will see it and be interested.
